Kids love juice.
Why? Because kids like sugar. Many juices are absolutely no better than soda, but they aren't as closely scrutinized (perhaps because some associate juice with fruit).
A 2012 study found that one-third of parents believed fruit juice was at least as healthy as fresh fruit, for example.
A 10-ounce bottle of Minute Maid Apple Juice, a lunch box staple, contains 140 calories and 32 grams of sugar.
That's more sugar than you'd get from three Fudgsicles.
Learn why fruit juice, even that made entirely from real fruit, isn't nearly as healthy as you think.
