Bradley Cooper will headline a star-studded comedy from Sony Pictures centering on celebrated military defense contractor Brian Gilcrest. Returning to the U.S. Space Program in Honolulu, Hawaii, the site of his greatest professional success, Gilcrest's job is to oversee a weapons satellite launch. Behind the complex system is a mysterious billionaire, Carson Welch, whose intentions are questionable.
When his love life starts to heat up, Brian has more than work to keep him busy. While rekindling an old flame with former girlfriend Tracy, he also finds himself falling for Major Lisa Ng, a no-nonsense Air Force watchdog assigned to him.
Starring as Brian's lost love is Rachel McAdams. In the role of Lisa is actress Emma Stone. Bill Murray plays the dubious Carson Welch. The film also features Alec Baldwin, John Krasinski (The Office), and This is the End co-stars Danny McBride and Jay Baruchel.
This yet-to-be titled movie was written and directed by Cameron Crowe, best known for the hit film Jerry Maguire and the memorable music biopic Almost Famous.
Originally slated for release in the extremely competitive month of December, the movie was recently pushed back to May 29. Jeff Blake, Sony's Chairman of Worldwide Marketing and Distribution, was quoted by Cinema Blend saying: "Once we saw the film, we knew that it would make a perfect summer release. The movie is Cameron at his best."
