Cleveland Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis has an important event to attend on Tuesday night: Game 1 of the 2016 World Series. There's a slight problem, though. Kipnis has a pretty gnarly sprained ankle.
Got a little too close to @Lindor12BC during the celebration!! Freak accident but should be good to go by Tuesday! #cantkeepmeoutofthisgame! pic.twitter.com/2DKgpzP0lq

Kipnis turned his ankle while celebrating the Indians' first American League Pennant since 1997. He landed on Francisco Lindor's foot after the two leapt up for a chest bump. In a tweet, Kipnis announced he would be fine for the start of the World Series, but a few pictures that surfaced today say otherwise.
In a since-deleted tweet, the MLB Network's Heidi Watney gave us a glimpse of Kipnis's balloon-like left ankle, and, um, it's pretty gross—like the type of gross where we have no idea whether or how Kipnis will be able to trot out to his position, much less move around on the infield. It's being called a Grade 2 sprain, but it's Grade 10 in grossness.
We'll see how well Kip can move if he indeed does start at his regular position later on this evening.
