The incident left Scherzer with a broken nose and a black eye. But, Mad Max being Mad Max, he started the very next day despite looking like he'd been on the losing end of a bar fight:

Scherzer then proceeded to throw 117 pitches en route to seven shutout innings and 10 strikeouts.
