A survey recently leaked on Reddit seems to hint at big changes coming to SimCity.
To satisfy players who have been less than pleased with the game, Maxis appears to be gauging interest in a number of potential features, among them the option to create bigger cities. The ability to go bigger would surely be well-received. Some gamers have said they can build entire cities in under an hour in the current game. Also on the survey is the ability to create over and underpasses, form guilds, build one-way streets and construct a subway system.
Rumors about offline play were also fueled by a survey question about "Classic Mode," which described a single fully functional city that could be played offline or online. The proposed mode does seem to contradict general manager Lucy Bradshaw's earlier statements that an offline option would require a "significant amount of engineering work." Maybe Maxis hired some extra help?
Furthermore, the survey delves into a possible SimCity expansion pack that would feature three components: "Simulate to the Sky," which brings in superscrapers and multi-layer transportation; "Greed or Green," which presents the choice of consumerism vs. clean technology; and "Transform Tomorrow," which allows for future technology.
A more personalized world is on the table too, as Maxis is thinking about head-to-head play as well as leaderboards.
Could any of these proposed changes bring you back to the game?
