After a couple weeks of downtime, the feud between Young Thug and Lil Wayne is heating up again, and all the aggression appears to be coming from Thugga's crew.
Remember a few weeks back when Wayne's tour bus was shot up following a club performance in Atlanta? One of Thug's close associates has now surrendered to police for his involvement in the shooting. Jimmy Carlton Winfrey, 25, is facing several felony counts, including criminal damage to property, aggravated assault, terroristic threats and acts, and possession of a firearm by a felon. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that the arrest warrant for Winfrey alleges that he committed the acts in hopes of improving his standing with a Bloods street gang.
Winfrey was at one time Young Thug's tour manager, so it doesn't take much of a leap to see where he might have got the idea. On any given song, Thugga has touted his affiliation with the Bloods. It's unclear whether the shooting, which fortunately resulted in no casualties or injuries, actually helped Winfrey gain street cred. But it certainly kept Thugga's name in the press, and there's no such thing as bad press, right?
Lil Wayne has commented neither on the shooting nor on this latest development. Winfrey is currently being held without bond.
